Welcome to my site! My name is Perry, and, similar to many artists out there, I am trying to make it in this world while doing what I love. That, of course, is proving rather difficult. I do hope that you like my work and maybe even think about hiring me for something. That would be really cool and appreciated.
In order to contact me, please email me at perryjamesdevlin@gmail.com
Here are some questions that I totally didn't just come up with:
"What do you aim to accomplish?"
Well, I would love to make art for games. Character art and concept art are the two big ones. However, despite wanting to make games since I was seven, the industry is currently a dumpster fire. So, starting my own indie company and revisiting the AAA industry as an older, more experienced, developer is the smart move. *Cough cough* but making a game by yourself is hard and I would totally never do that *cough*
"What art do you mainly make?"
Despite showing off digital and 3D mostly on this site, I greatly prefer sketching and traditional work with pens and pencils. Ever since Adam Adamowicz became my biggest inspiration, I have aimed to work traditionally more often than not. Plus, you really can't replicate the feel of real materials.
"Who are your favorite artists?"
I have a bunch. As overall artists, Eliza Ivanova and Adam Adamowicz take the spot. Both are mostly traditional artists as well, and Eliza almost predominantly works with the human figure. Character artists like Kyounghwan Kim and Jason Nguyen are on top for me as well. Others to note are Piotr Jabłoński and Nicolas Bouvier, and recently Arne Niklas Jansson.
"Any favorite games?"
Too many to think of. I grew up on Metroid and Legend of Zelda, but others of note that I love are Destiny, Rocket League, Terraria, Sekiro, Chivalry, and of course Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and Oblivion.
"Are you working on anything exciting right now?"
Yes. A big project, in fact.
"Can we hire you?"
I mean, most likely yes. Unless what you want me for is really stupid. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't reach out. So, you should reach out.
